Have you experienced something in your life and though you have survived it physically, you feel there are still emotional and psychological issues that need to be explored?

Cancer, HIV/AIDS, discrimination and other life challenges can leave a person feeling alienated and hopeless.

Would you like to find a creative way to transform your experience and feel a sense of empowerment, connection and healing?

You are not alone.

Since 2000, The Life Monologue Project has supported people across the country in doing just that.

Utilizing the Life Monologue Project’s proven methodology, Pamela Thompson and her team of trained facilitators will guide workshop participants in simple free writing techniques that help to short circuit the inner critic and editor and accesses memory and emotion.  These workshops focus on supporting, empowering and inspiring participants in remembering that there is something bigger and more powerful than any of life challenge – and that is the human spirit.

The CANCER Monologues
Cancer has reached epidemic proportions in our society.  Medical science has had great success with increasing and extending survivorship.  They have however little to offer for the emotional and psychological impact cancer has on the patient and their loved ones.  These workshops were born out of LMP’s director and co-founder’s own experience with cancer and the healing she found in creating and taking part in these workshops.  You will be brought together with other people who are addressing similar issues in an environment of creativity, compassion and healing.

The AIDS Monologues
Many illnesses carry social stigma and because of this a sense of abandonment, shame and isolation can accompany the physical disease.  Because of this ignorance, fear and judgment, people with HIV/AIDS still face many of these issues.  To build understanding and community, we at LMP created the AIDS Monologues.  We have had the great privilege of witnessing astounding results through empowering these workshop participants to stand up, speak out and experience the healing in being heard.

The OUT Monologues
These workshops grew out of a need in our own community.  A vicious hate crime against a young gay man occurred in Santa Fe, NM and we at LMP felt it was imperative to address this issue head on.  With the support of Santa Fe’s Pride on the Plaza, LMP created The OUT Monologues: Stories of Pride from Our Community.  OUT explores what it is to be lesbian/gay/bi/transgender in our culture, and how this informs the development of self – emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially.  OUT also shines a light on those who stand up, with pride and strength, in the face of discrimination and hatred.  OUT also celebrates the individuals upon whose shoulders the LGBT communities, across the country, stand.
