The Life Monologue Project is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that relies on donations of money and/or time to survive.
The benefit we deliver to the lives of our audience cannot be quantitatively measured.
However, our value can be measured in the spirit revealed in their stories.

I can remember the
first Cancer Monologues performance. I was sitting in the audience and the woman
onstage, one of the workshop participants, had a regal air about her. She talked
about her struggles with cancer and learning to find herself again. Having had
one of her breast removed and losing all her hair, she stood before the audience and posed the question “can a woman
with one breast and no hair could be sexy?” Before she could continue,
the entire audience jumped to their feet and affirmed that she indeed was beautiful, magnificent in her courage and honesty.
Being in the audience
was one of the most powerful experiences of my life. What an honor to witness these brave people! I was filled with gratitude to have been a part of the experience as a volunteer.
I realized that my efforts in donating time that night, as
an usher and also having put the program together were very important contributions.
It was a giving that gave back to me more than I could imagine.
I later learned that after
that show, a gentleman in the audience donated money to fund the next Cancer Monologue workshop and performances. From this first performance and the ripple effect it had throughout the community the Life Monologue Project
was born.
We cannot continue this
work without the support of volunteers and donors. We are so grateful to all
the many volunteers who have already given of their time and to those who have donated money.
